How did I get here?

“You’re going to Japan next year, right?”

Sure.  And now here I am, eleven months later with my first flight, heavy baggage, and a good dictionary under my belt, in a foreign country, wondering how I made it here, but trying to enjoy my time.

    Hello, Meg —
Very different to visualize you so far away at this moment when you were standing in my driveway letting me hug you good by at the start of the week. You’re a brave girl/woman.
I look forward to keeping tabs with you and about you.
    Sleep well.
    Love, Aunt Kate

    Hi Megan,

Your mom gave me your blog website, so I’ve been busy reading. It sounds like the whole experience will be very exciting. I hope you can have some meaningful conversation with your roommate. It will take time, but I’m sure it will happen. Take care. I am anxious to read more.
